Audiradio Returns After Technical Glitch
RAI Uno Still #1

Audioradio publishes combined second and third quarter results for Italian radio.

Bullet points:

RAI Uno challenged by competitor Radio DeeJay, both are up, but the difference is still nearly 1,800,000 listeners.

RAI Due was available on fewer MW transmitters, with little effect.

Italian media commentators refer to “collapse” of Solo Musica Italiana.

Capital Radio almost touches the significant 2m listener mark.

Audiradio employs 2 fielding companies for the radio surveys. Doxa of Milan replaced SWG last year. Second quarter figures were not separately released because of “significant differences” between Doxa and Unicab samples, reportedly under pressure from RAI. Alert to researchers: the customers are paying attention!
