Italian News Agency Begins English Language Service

Recognizing that for an international audience to be able to read news about Italy that it had to be in English, ANSA, the Italian national news agency, has started to produce two English language services.

The first is a newswire intended for global media outlets. It consists of some 65 items items daily, about 40% covering Italy itself and the other 60% covering the world as seen by ANSA's foreign correspondents in some 90 countries.

The second service concentrates on Italian corporate and financial news and consists of some 60 - 80 items a day, depending on the news day.

Both services have already been picked up by Factiva, Dialog, LexisNexis and FT Profile,

Further details about the services are available from Arianna.DiLoreto@ansa.it

Philip M. Stone of Stone Associates advised ANSA on the project.
